Shooting “from” the Hip(Top)
OK, I'm going to try to avoid becoming a HipTop bore, but here's some of my current thoughts...
- 24 hour battery life?! You've got to be kidding me. If I forget to charge it every single night, I'm going to be phoneless?
- Not that it's the convenient to use as a phone, anyway. The shape of it makes it clumsy to talk into. And the way of entering numbers is a pain -- Either keep the screen closed and use the wee scrolly-dial (very time-consuming), or unflip the screen and type, which isn't very comfortable (and looks sodding ridiculous) when held against your face.
- The web-browser, whilst definitely better than WAP, renders pages very clumsily. And the T-Mobile homepage (which is the Sidekick's default homepage) looks like absolute arse! Why didn't they build something specificly for the HipTop, like Alan's Pocket Portal?
- I can't assign a ringtone to a group of people? Or even to a person? I have to assign them individually to each of their numbers? That's not helpful.
- Oh, and I can't download new ringtones?
Hrmmm... it's looking decidedly likely that the Sidekick's heading back to the shop in 13 days, unless it can do something to W!O!W! me afore then.
