Tivo announced some upcoming new features at CES today. They look extremely useful (although I’ve had remote scheduling for a while now). Being able to play the MP3s on my PC through my living room sound system would be pretty kewl.

However, the new features will only work with the “Season 2” TiVos, so the big question for me now: Do I splash out a very reasonable $150 to upgrade to a refurbished unit, or should I hold out until the HDTV TiVo is released “later this year”?

And do I just have too much disposable income, or what?
