I haven’t written about Bloglines in a while, so it’s time for a reminder…

If you currently check a lot of websites everyday by hammering on your Favorites folder, you need Bloglines. The name is deceptive—It’s not just blogs you can track. Most anything online that updates frequently can be collated for your viewing pleasure, from the BBC News to BitTorrent warez.

I’ve been using Bloglines since, literally, Day One (back in the days when Dave Winer was going on about how great his entirely useless and forgotten subscriptions harmonizer was), and it’s fantastic to see all the improvements Mark has made. Being able to subscribe to searches is particularly great—I loved reading today all the theories out there in Blogistan about Rupert getting booted from Survivor. It can also be used to manage your blogroll—That list of “blogs I read” on the right of this page is generated automatically, based on my Bloglines subscriptions.
