I had one of those “I wonder what would happen if I said nothing” moments today.

I logged onto my new employer’s HR system today to set-up my health insurance. On one of the screens, I discovered that, apparently, my expected salary was.. $162 million. That’s over $3MM a week.

I considered leaving it be, and seeing what ended up in my bank account on Friday, but in the end decided to preemptively report it. Apparently, my salary had been entered into the “hourly wage” field. All undone now, but visions of paying of the car, mortgage and escaping to Australia were entertained briefly.
