Woohoo! I’ve just discovered that Textile¹ seamlessly supports the inline creation of footnotes².

Back when I was a miscreant³, I posted with footnotes all the time, and I somewhat miss the practice. It doesn’t bugger up the rhythm of your sentences⁴, and allows you the freedom to stick ridiculously long asides⁵ in wherever you feel.

Hurrah⁶ for footnotes!

⁵ My original intention was to put a ridiculously long aside down here in this footnote, but I can’t be arsed to do so, due to the fact that it’s Boxing Day⁷ and I’ve got a stack of DVDs to watch, including The Simpsons Season 5 which features commentary on every single track, so I have 11 hours of television to watch, followed by the same 11 hours, but with a soundtrack of writers and animators cracking wise about the creation of one of the finest seasons of animated television in the world ever.
