Polar Rose
Firefox plugin which collaboratively identifies faces in photos all over the web. There’s no smart matching yet, but that’s promised for the future. Creepy, inevitable, and awesome.

Amazing use of social tagging and machine learning.
The downside of the social tagging part is that people could subvert the system by creating a script that automatically enters false information for photos. Spread over a network of machines, a subverter could probably even outnumber accurately entered info for the majority(long tail) of faces.
