I am the ghost of groovymother.com. Woooooo!

This is an old page from Rod Begbie's blog.

It only exists in an attempt to prevent linkrot. No new content will be added to this site, and links and images are liable to be broken. Check out begbie.com to find where I'm posting stuff these days.

Stephen Fry: Dork talk

Stephen Fry writes about the HTML5 ogg video debacle — he’s even more geeky that I’d previously imagined. What a hero!

myspacepaedo

myspacepaedo

An instant message I received. Not sure if it's one of my friends being funny, or something more sinister -- either way, I'm not responding!

Peavatar

Peavatar

My SantAvatar is taking a backseat on my Twitter account for today, replaced by a "peavatar", in support of local blogger/twitterer Susan Reynolds, who is going in for breast surgery today.

This is a really cool example of "social media" in action -- and particularly the sense of community that Twitter enables. See frozenpeafund.com for more info on what's going on.

Passage

Beautiful game/piece of art. Play it for five minutes (important note: you can move up and down, as well as left and right), then read the creator’s statement. Lovely.

BBC Radio 4 - Comedy - 28 Acts In 28 Minutes

Fast-paced stand-up and sketches from BBC Radio 4. The great thing about this format is if you don’t like an act, that’s fine — there’ll be another one along in a minute.

Dash Express GPS Video and Deets: True Traffic Reporting and Custom Maps for $599

I *really* like the look of this upcoming GPS — it gathers the speeds of other users over time and warns you when there’s slow traffic ahead, even on roads that SmartTraveller, etc. don’t cover. Will have to check them out at CES.

NVidia RAID

NVidia RAID

Rebuilding a RAID-1 array with a new disk. "Data from one of the selected disks can be preserved in a new array. If one of the disks in the new array has data you wish to save, select it now."

Uhm.. yeah... any chance you could give me *ANY* kind of distinction between the two drives? Perhaps highlight the one that has my fucking data on it?

A Taste For The Theatrical

Trailer for the new Batman movie, and it’s dark, twisted and stonking. I’ve reached a point where I think I will go see any movie Christopher Nolan directs from here on out, because I haven’t been disappointed by any so far.
