The new Google Reader UI is a vast improvement over their initial release. Still not something I’d use, but definitely recommendable to feed-reading newbies.

Computer-animated insect upskirt action!

Sling - An Edis Brothers Game from Ezone.com

A splendidly simple little flashgame.

Venn diagram humour. Pretty good.

First Look - Times Reader

Odd move by the NYTimes: They appear to have re-invented feed-reading using proprietary Microsoft technology.

Schwag!

Schwag!

I worked the Penn State Career Fair this week for RhymesWithNose. As is traditional, around closing time, I went around the other companies and traded branded tchotchkes. Here's my haul.

The Math Works probably win the prize for coolest toy -- A branded Rubik's Cube -- but I'm also pretty proud of my collection of morally reprehensible pens from Halliburton, Philip Morris USA and the CIA.

And because I picked up some "Gloop" and "Funny" Putty, I'll have to check my bag on the trip home, so sadly, no toothpaste-based security hijinx tomorrow.

Something I Learned Today Going Through Security at Logan Airport

When they say that, due to relaxed heightened security measures, you can only take “travel sized toothpaste” through the security checkpoint when flying, offering to squeeze out the excess toothpaste from your regular sized tube until it weighs less than 3oz won’t cut it.

But the unamused reaction to my offer from the TSA agent was fun, so I think I’m going to purchase another full sized tube and offer again on my flight back.

It’s thinks like this that remind me that I don’t actually have too much free time.

BBC NEWS | Question Time video podcast

Sizable chunks of Question Time are being made available as a podcast. Hooray for Auntie Beeb and her new media tendencies. Grumpy arguing politicians is hawt.

Blue Screened

Clearly the presenter from Traineo had not performed sufficient sacrifices to the god of demos before getting up at the Web Innovators Group. Within 10 seconds of starting, his laptop bluescreened.

And all the Mac fanboys in the crowd smiled to themselves.

Tonight’s Web Innovators Group meetup looks like it’ll have a really interesting mix of startups presenting. Came along if you’re in the neighbourhood.

You can start to appreciate from this photo just how much larger Clyde is than Bacon.

Drool!

Drool!

Clyde produces a steady stream of drool -- it really is quite impressive.

Introducing.. Clyde!

Introducing.. Clyde!

Picked up from New England Basset Hound Rescue, Clyde is a 9-year-old male, and a gentle sweetheart.

Bacon and Clyde

Bacon and Clyde

It's like Bonnie and Clyde, but with approximately 87% less Warren Beatty.
