Tony Hsieh tells his tale. Of course, his humble version is of evil VCs forcing the hand of the handsome founder with an amazing (and still unproven) vision. Reminds me of Philip Greenspun’s one-sided tales of ArsDigita post collapse. Second bubble, same as the first.

Buzz launch wasn't flawed, Google's intentions are
Really insightful post on what stinks so badly about Google Buzz. Slamming it into Gmail was just such an ugly, out-of-place, hacky move for market-share — no different than the approach that cluttered up the homepages of Yahoo, AOL, MSN, etc.

Netflix: Freedom & Responsibility Culture
Really interesting presentation deck leaked(?) from Netflix, covering their workplace culture. Some incredibly smart and inspiring stuff. Apparently, they let go with a generous severance package anyone who fails the question: “Which of my people, if they told me they were leaving in two months for a similar job at a peer company, would I fight hard to keep at Netflix?”
