Yay! Fireworks!
Photo essay on the insanity of fireworks packaging, courtesy of Cabel Sasser. When I was a kid in the UK, home fireworks were crappy little cheap boxes of wussy rockets and barely-spinny Catherine Wheels. These are huge, expensive and bizarre in comparison.

Boston Red Sox - Balance ball
Bizarre event at today’s Sox/Yankees game. Johnny Damon caught a hit before colliding with the wall and losing the ball… which balanced atop the wall for a good second or two. The photos are worth it for the gobsmacked Sox fan in the background.
