Brilliantly-done ad for the new Wario game for Wii. Seems dull to start, but worth continuing with!
Thankfully, I was completely unaware that any of these games existed — I had to do a quick search to make sure they were real, and not created purely for the purposes of this article!
Video of Nintendo’s forthcoming workout game for the Wii. Looks like a Brain Age for your whole body!

Fun Flashgame from Nintendo. Are they prototyping ideas for console games using Flash? This could easily be a great two-player DS game.

Everybody Votes
I’m in the middle of flipping between writing two emails and a document, and getting nothing completed, when I get distracted by the shiny blue light on my Wii. A message has arrived! What can it say? I must drop everything immediately and become distracted.
It was heralding the arrival of a new free channel called Everybody Votes. (there are some photos at Kotaku)
It’s kind of cute. You vote (with entertaining Mii graphics) on silly little questions like “Do you prefer cats or dogs?”, then predict how you think the majority will vote. Nosing around it, it looks like you get feedback on how well you predict the populous, as well as how far you verge from normal.
Joy happened to walk by as I was playing, so I got her to join in. It was fun comparing our votes, and if Nintendo were to expand it to allow you to compare with your Wii friends, I could see this becoming wicked popular, especially when you consider all the silly meme polls that flood LiveJournal and the like. People like showing off their opinion (plus comparing scores!)
If nothing else, it acts as an example of out-there thinking from someone at Nintendo. You wouldn’t see this on a PS3!
Wii News Channel
It just seems right that the first story I pulled up on the new Wii "News Channel" was about the European PS3 launch.
With the Weather channel being released this morning, and Opera later this week, it’s going to be fun to see how the non-gaming side of Wii grows.

Make your Wii like a bit more NESy! (I just ordered a Union Jack skin for my Wii, so I can play Super Monkey Ball for Queen And Country)

My Wii number
is 8208 9478 2034 3274.
If you want to see my scruffy, portly (and endearingly accurate) Mii strut his stuff in your Mii Parade, or just want to send rude messages to my TV screen, let me know your friend code.
Mashing up the “leaked” (and possibly true) information on how many Wiis each branch of Target will be selling on launch day with Google Maps. I might try the Everett Target instead of the Somerville one — they’re looking to be getting almost three times as many.
Icons you can copy to spruce up your Mario Kart. Of course, you still require a modicum of artistic talent to copy these to your DS.
Videos of Nintendo’s non-gamey stuff built in to the Wii. Browse news and weather on your television set. What a concept! Someone should invent that 30 years ago and call it Teletext.
The Wii details are out: Launches Nov 19th (two days after PS3), $250 including one remote+nunchuck and Wii Sports, Extra remote+nunchuck for $60. From the download service, NES games will be $5, SNES games $8, N64 games $10. I can’t bloody wait!

DS emulator which can play “backup” ROMs on your PC.
Now that I’ve “completed” New Super Mario Bros, I need a walkthrough to get me to the two hidden worlds that I skipped.
A collection of folks’s sketches when challenged by Brain Age. I’ll have to upload some of my own “artistry”.

Sweet Jeebus, this looks like fun.
Skins and wraps for game consoles and iPods. I’ve just decorated my DS Lite in the Baseball design, and it’s very fetching if I do say so myself.
